Chemical Breakdown

Catha-Edulis-PlantThe active ingredients of bath salts are derived from drugs called cathinones, which come from the East African plant called the Catha Edulis.

Bath salts are thought to come from the major cities of China. They are mostly produced in a tablet or powder form.

Bath salts are found online as well as convenience and tobacco stores, gas stations, truck stops, in tattoo parlors, and on the street. Drug dealers have developed bath salts with other active ingredients in order to avoid passing drug laws. One of those drugs is referred to as Cosmic Blast. Cosmic Blast also known as jewelry cleaner contains the stimulant and hallucinogen in MDPV, but also Naphyrone. These ingredients are also used to make synthetic cocaine.
